Louis Braille Audio is the largest producer of unabridged Australian audio books.
Our audio books were first produced for borrowers of the Braille and Talking Book Library, now Vision Australia.
In 1993 Louis Braille Audio began a commercial range of books – books available to be “read” by anyone. Our range includes adult fiction and non-fiction and an extensive range of both fiction and non-fiction for children and young adults.
Our titles include both literary, genre and popular fiction and the non-fiction range includes memoir, biography, travel, history, social history, military history and self development.
Children’s titles include popular recreational reading – humour, fantasy and adventure as well as books currently set as texts.
We also produce a range of reading kits – the Outloud range. These carefully selected multi-media resources consist of an audio book packaged with the print copy and are designed for supported reading and literacy programmes, and for use with ESL students. Our Outloud! Literacy kits are for literacy support, suitable for classroom use, have graded language, lively illustrations and are specially designed for Australian students.

Our books are recorded in state of the art digital studios and narrated by professional Australian actors. Louis Braille Audio goes to great lengths to ensure that our audio books are of the highest quality. They are attractively yet sturdily packaged for the needs of the educational and library market. All books are covered by a replacement service.
Profits from the sale of our audio books are used for the continued development of Vision Australia’s blindness and low vision services.
